Why the range is so wide

One event explains most of this table: on 20 March 2026, Novo Nordisk's semaglutide patent expired in India. More than 40 Indian companies launched DCGI-approved versions of the same molecule within weeks, and prices for semaglutide collapsed from ₹10,000-plus a month to as little as ₹1,290. Novo Nordisk responded by cutting Ozempic and Wegovy prices sharply in April 2026. Tirzepatide is the exception: Eli Lilly's patents on it run well into the 2030s, so Mounjaro and Yurpeak face no generic competition and their prices have held.

Want the medicine plus the doctor, in one price?

ALTRcare programs start at ₹3,499 a month for doctor-led semaglutide and ₹13,999 a month for Yurpeak (tirzepatide), covering medication, consultations, titration and follow-up together. Take the free 2-minute assessment to see what fits.

What the drug price does not include

Every figure above is the medicine alone. Used properly, a GLP-1 also needs a prescribing doctor, baseline and follow-up blood tests, a titration plan, and someone to call when the nausea week hits. Bought separately, that adds ₹2,000 to ₹5,000 a month in most cities. This is why comparing a bare pharmacy MRP against an all-inclusive program price misleads in both directions: the vial is cheaper than it looks risky, and the program is cheaper than it looks expensive.

If a price looks too good, check the source

Prices meaningfully below this table usually mean grey-market imports, compounded or research-grade peptides, or counterfeit pens. Every legal GLP-1 in India is prescription-only and sold through licensed pharmacies.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest GLP-1 medication in India in 2026?

Generic semaglutide vials (Natco Semanat, Glenmark GLIPIQ) start at about ₹1,290 per month, or ₹325 per weekly injection. The cheapest pen format is Alkem's Semasize at ₹1,800 per month.

How much does tirzepatide cost per month in India?

Mounjaro and Yurpeak both cost ₹13,125 per month at the 2.5 mg starting dose, rising to about ₹25,781 per month at the 12.5 to 15 mg doses. Both brands are made by Eli Lilly and priced identically.

Did Ozempic and Wegovy prices drop in India?

Yes. Novo Nordisk cut Wegovy prices by up to 37 percent in November 2025 and cut again in April 2026 after generic semaglutide launched. Both now start around ₹5,660 per month at the 0.25 mg starter dose.

Why is there no generic tirzepatide in India?

Eli Lilly's tirzepatide patents in India run well into the 2030s, unlike semaglutide, whose patent expired on 20 March 2026. Until then, Mounjaro and Yurpeak are the only legal tirzepatide brands.

Are these prices per dose or per month?

The table shows both. Injectable GLP-1s are taken once a week, so a month is four doses. Rybelsus is a daily tablet, so a month is about 30 tablets.
