How we write and check our guides

Who writes our guides

Most guides are drafted by ALTRcare's editorial team. Some are written by our doctors themselves, and then the doctor is named as the author. Each guide shows who wrote it and who reviewed it at the top of the page.

Medical review

Every guide names the doctor responsible for its medical review, with their qualifications, in the byline. You can read about each of them on our doctors page. The reviewer checks that the medical content is accurate, that it is written for patients rather than clinicians, and that it does not tell anyone to start, change or stop a medicine without a doctor.

Sources and facts

Facts that change over time, such as prices, approvals, regulations and trial results, are dated and linked to a source listed at the end of the guide. We prefer, in this order: regulators such as CDSCO and the US FDA, company announcements, peer-reviewed trials and medical references, and established news outlets.

When we cannot confirm a fact, we leave it out rather than guess.

Keeping guides current

The GLP-1 market in India changes quickly. When prices, approvals or the evidence move, we update the guides that depend on them and show the new date as "Updated" at the top of the page. A short note near the top says what changed when the change matters to a reader.

What we never publish

• Promises or guarantees of weight loss.
• Patient testimonials or before-and-after photos.
• Instructions to dose or adjust a prescription medicine on your own.
• Where to buy unapproved, unlicensed or investigational medicines.
• Promotion of weight-loss medicines to anyone under 18. ALTRcare treats adults only.

How ALTRcare makes money

ALTRcare is a paid, doctor-led weight management service. Our guides mention our own plans and prices, and they say so plainly. Prescription medicines are dispensed only by a licensed pharmacy against a doctor's prescription, never sold directly through this site.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake, email help@altrcare.com with the page and what is wrong. We check it against the source, correct the guide and update its date.

Not a substitute for a doctor

Our guides explain; they do not diagnose or prescribe. Only a registered doctor who knows your history can decide whether a medicine is right for you.
