Prescription medications

Semaglutide and tirzepatide are prescription-only medications in India. They are dispensed only after a clinical consultation with an MCI-registered physician and only when clinically appropriate. Completing the ALTRcare eligibility quiz or signing up does not guarantee that you will be prescribed medication. Your doctor has the sole authority to determine whether GLP-1 medication is suitable for you.

They are not a guarantee of results. The weight loss estimates generated by the ALTRcare eligibility quiz are algorithmic approximations based on published clinical data. They are not a clinical prognosis and should not be treated as such.

Side effects and contraindications

GLP-1 receptor agonists may cause side effects including but not limited to nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, and in rare cases more serious adverse events. They are contraindicated in patients with certain conditions including a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Your prescribing doctor will review your complete medical history before recommending any medication.

Emergency situations

ALTRcare is not an emergency medical service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 112 (India Emergency Services) immediately. Do not use WhatsApp or this website for emergency medical situations.

Regulatory compliance

All medications dispensed through ALTRcare are CDSCO-approved for use in India. Our prescribing physicians are registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI) / National Medical Commission (NMC). Medication is dispatched exclusively through licensed pharmacy partners.
